Okay so I’m a little late starting this news letter, but as they say ‘better late than never’ and it is still May!
At the beginning of April I enjoyed a lovely Easter with my family and over the holidays it was great to see our ‘visitors’ beginning to come back again to Sheringham.
My Summer yarns have been gradually arriving at Owl Tree Crafts and we have started knitting up some samples for you all to see. I have particularly enjoyed knitting with Adriafil’s ‘Kimera’ and at the moment I am more than halfway through a very lacy top knitted in Wendy’s new Supreme Cotton and Silk DK Yarn.
King Cole’s baby ‘Cherish’ has been flying out of the door with many people coming back again and again for more. Consequently I have now ordered all the new colours and their range of solid colours in the same yarn. There are also quite a lot of new patterns to go with the new colours.
I am now very well stocked with the new DMC Cross-stitch kits with more arriving monthly and I also have lots of mini-kits in stock. I also have the white 14 count aida fabric on the bolt if any of you need a larger piece of fabric.
Great news some of the fabrics have started arriving (the nautical fabric pack has already sold out!) will have to order more next time!!
My Gutermann threads cabinet has now arrived so I now have the whole colour range of the recycled Sew All Thread. It isn’t a vast range but quite comprehensive.
Now the reason I am so late with this Newsletter is ‘Yarn Shop Day’. It took a lot of preparation but Wow we had such a wonderful day. My Sister Megan and Son Gareth and of course Mum all came along to help. We had a Knit & Natter outside, knitting a blanket for Aid Africa. It was a bit cold out there but some people did stay for quite a long time! Tea and coffee being served to try and keep them warm!! We didn’t quite get a blanket knitted but we have carried on with it at our last Craft & Chat and the ladies at The Mo are going to take the strips to continue the knitting for the ‘Knitting on the Prom’ Day (June 13th on the Prom outside the Museum, Sheringham).
Inside we had a table of samples on needles for our customers to try out our summer yarns and specialised needles and hooks. The Love your Local Yarn Shop Day official free patterns (I still have some of these left so ask for a free pattern next time you call into the shop). The shop was buzzing all day and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, we will look forward to the same day next year!!!
We will be keeping our ‘yarn offers’ for a little while longer so drop by and grab a bargain.
Now to arrange our First Birthday on June the 27th!!!!!!
Since starting this Newsletter King Cole’s ‘Authentic’ has arrived which is a cotton and acrylic mix yarn with a denim look (very soft) can’t wait to have the time to knit myself something.
Wendy’s Cotton Supreme Dk which is great for crocheting with and if this goes well they also have a 4ply version and a chunky version!
Manos del Uruguay ‘Silk Blend’
Must stop now as I am running out of room, hope to see you soon at ‘Owl Tree Crafts’
