Well we have rolled into July and so to another Newsletter and what fantastic sunshine we have had this week!!!! Long may it continue.

Last week (29th June) we celebrated being open for a whole year!!! We had a lovely day, lots of cake, the weather was kind to us, we had our knitting alfresco (although it was a little windy in the morning) and it was great to see lots of our regular customers and some new faces.  Here’s to the next year and I say again a big, big thank you to all who have supported us through our first year.  I have thoroughly enjoyed it as has my Mum.

You will probably have noticed I have now started stocking Moda Fabrics.  It will be a gradual ‘build up’ of the new patchwork and sewing department (hang about that sounds a bit like I’ve got a department store!! Well maybe one day!!!) and I have started stocking some of the Simplicity Craft patterns.

Also arrived my shiny new DMC Thread Spinner fully stocked and ready to go (the satin thread is absolutely gorgeous).  The stranded cotton is great for sewing up your Opium Creations.

For all you beady crafters, I have some new colours in the Superduos and the new Matubo beads in size 8 which have a larger hole in the middle than the normal 8’s, great colours too!

Damon, my King Cole rep, visited this week with some fantastic new yarns for the Autumn/Winter season which they will be introducing gradually over the next few months.

Great news, two tone Tinsel has arrived with some great new patterns, snowmen (Mum has already knitted one), elves, Father Christmas and not forgetting Mother Christmas!

King Cole’s new Drifter has been proving popular already and I will be ordering more of the colours next time.  It is a bit like Sirdar’s Crofter but much softer and much better value! Also on the way is King Cole’s new Italian Collection. Call in to have a sneak preview at the brochure.

I forgot to mention King Cole’s new Raffia yarn, with some great patterns to crochet, I am going to start on the hat.

Well I am going on holiday after close of business on Saturday the 8th August with my Mum to Bourne in Lincolnshire.  Great for visiting Stamford, Rutland Water and Oakham.  Mind you I may well be asleep for most of the week or crafting!!!!  Sue is going to be looking after the shop for me on Monday and Tuesday and Gareth and my sister Megan for the rest of the week.  I will be back on the following Saturday.

I hope you all have a great summer and I look forward to your visits if you are up this way!

Jo
